[ARCHIVED] Water Update

water update

The City of Bridgeport staff is aware of the report of spillage from the City of Runaway Bay; however, there has been no sign of such contaminated water entering our water plant.
Daily, personnel at the Bridgeport Water Treatment Plant perform several tests on the water at the plant before the water is distributed in our system. These tests have and continue to show negative signs of spillage contaminates.
Please know the water leaving our plant water is safe to consume.
The City of Bridgeport water department will continue to flush our water system to remove residual manganese in the lines. Please understand residents may experience a slight drop in water pressure; however, crews are in the field and making the necessary adjustments.
The City will continue to monitor the system for any changes.
We appreciate your patience as we work together to improve our system.
